"Recently the NET -> TuneIn function stopped working. I learned that the AV receiver on startup of the NET function checks for firmware updates on AVRUPD1.ONKYO.COM (IP : 13.33.28.207:80).
But now a 'cannot connect to server' error turns up and checking on PC learns me that a HTTP connection to that server is not available.
When the server does not send back a 200 respons the TuneIn platform or service is not started.
Can you please remedy the update server and/or advise me how to circumvent this check when launching TuneIn on the AV receiver."
"Dear Philip,
Thank you for contacting our support.
We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble accessing the apps/services on your receiver, we realize just how frustrating this must be for you.
This is due to the Japan servers and websites shutting down after Onkyo had filed for bankruptcy earlier this month, and closed down as a company.
We apologize for any inconvenience this situation must be causing you.
While Onkyo the company has closed down, Onkyo the brand is still ongoing. Your Onkyo devices are still going to be supported in the future and to make sure this situation does not affect you and your products for long, we are currently looking into alternative ways to restore the functionality of the services and apps.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we work to provide a solution to this problem as soon as possible."
